Early Learning Center

Early childhood at Avenues is full of joy, exploration, and discovery–and unfolds entirely in two languages. Our world-class language immersion program–offered in Mandarin Chinese or Spanish–is taught by expert faculty in bright, inviting classrooms purpose-designed for bilingual learning.

The Avenues World Elements (AWE) define the knowledge, skills, and qualities that every Avenues student develops on their journey from early childhood through graduation. From empathy to entrepreneurship, creativity to classic works, AWE defines both what and how students learn at Avenues.

A day in the life of the Early Learning Center

Students in grades nursery–kindergarten learn in both English and their target language, Spanish or Mandarin Chinese. Literacy, math, art, and World Course (our interdisciplinary global studies program that spirals from Small World to grade 12) are taught in both languages, while specialty classes such as science and Wellness and Movement (WAM) are taught in English. Our days also incorporate service learning, assemblies, guest speakers, and more.

Small World

Small World provides a range of scheduling options to suit families with children from the age of 12-months to two-years-old.

Our one-hour Grown-Up-and-Me classes are designed to include parent or caregiver participation, while encouraging each child’s independent spirit and immersing them in Mandarin Chinese or Spanish.

Our dual language immersion program for one- and two-year-olds is offered in the mornings, afternoons, or as a full day program, with a choice of two, three, or five days per week.
Small World (One-Year-Olds for 2026—27 School Year)

Nursery–Pre-K

Our nursery and pre-kindergarten programs spark curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning through joyful, play-based experiences in warm, language-rich classrooms. Guided by expert teachers and immersed in English, Spanish, or Mandarin, students develop early literacy, creativity, collaboration, and independence from the very beginning.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten is a year of joyful growth, where students build strong foundations in literacy, math, and inquiry through hands-on, collaborative learning.
