Tuition for 2019-20
Nursery – 12th Grade
Avenues’ annual tuition is comprehensive and inclusive of:
- Books and materials
- Lunch and snacks
- Athletic uniforms
- All field trips
- Transport to/from activities
- Educational technology (e.g. iPads and MacBooks)
With the exception of optional supplementary costs such as personal café charges, after-school specialty programs, summer camp, study abroad and transportation to and from school, Avenues does not assess additional fees or seek contributions for athletics, building funds, capital funds or scholarships.
As one school with many campuses in leading global cities, Avenues’ tuition is structured similarly at each campus. Tuition at Avenues is the same for all grades, as our resources and overarching commitment to the total student experience are comparable across all grades.
For 2019-20, tuition for Avenues São Paulo is R$133,000. Tuition is paid with an initial deposit of R$17,500, and the remaining amount divided into monthly installments up to February 2020.
Avenues seeks to build a student body that reflects the diversity of each community it serves. As our mission states, we aim to be, “humble about [our] gifts and generous of spirit.” In addition to the work done by our students, staff and parents through Avenues community engagement initiatives, our financial assistance program is one more manifestation of that commitment.
Avenues São Paulo offers financial assistance to the parents of admitted students in grades kindergarten through 12. We encourage you to consider Avenues even if you cannot afford the full cost of tuition, as there may be assistance available. Our team is committed to helping you navigate this process.
Avenues believes the primary responsibility for tuition rests with the family, and each family is expected to look to its own resources before requesting assistance. However, Avenues attempts to recognize the distinctiveness of each situation and, when there is demonstrated need, to tailor grants to meet the needs of each qualified family.

Financial Assistance FAQ
Is financial assistance available for all grades?
For 2019-20, financial assistance is available for kindergarten through 11th grade.
Is financial assistance available for expenses not related to tuition?
Families receiving financial assistance will also receive assistance with other school expenses such as books, supplies, and trips that are required as part of the curricular program. Avenues is committed to making full participation in school life possible for all students.
How is financial need assessed? Is there an income cutoff?
Many factors are taken into account, including, but not limited to, the number of children in a family and how many of them attend tuition-based schools; additional dependents; all sources of income, assets and liabilities; expenses such as mortgage or rent, automobiles, camps and lessons and unreimbursed medical expenses. Since each family’s situation is evaluated individually, there is no specific income cutoff.
Is financial assistance renewed each year?
Families must reapply for assistance each year by submitting current forms and supporting documents. If a family’s financial situation remains similar from one year to the next, Avenues will continue to grant similar assistance. Each student receiving financial assistance must remain in good academic standing to qualify for continued assistance.
Is financial assistance available to all qualified families?
Requests for financial assistance may exceed resources available to provide financial assistance. Avenues reserves the right for financial assistance awards to reflect the enrollment priorities of the school (e.g. gender balance, class size, socioeconomic diversity).
Are scholarships offered to economically disadvantaged, highly capable students?
Avenues works with community partners to identify high potential students who are economically disadvantaged. A limited number of scholarships for grades kindergarten through 11 will be granted for the 2019-20 school year. Each year, additional students will be added to this program.
When and how should an application for financial assistance be made?
To apply for financial assistance, you must indicate your intention at the time of submission of the admissions application. Families must submit all required financial assistance forms and provide all supporting documents. Families that have already started their application to Avenues São Paulo should contact the admissions team at firstname.lastname@example.org to announce their intention to apply for financial assistance.
What types of financial disclosure are required as part of the financial assistance application?
The standard document requests are two years of income tax returns, three months of Holerite bank statements and, if applicable, two years of business tax returns. Avenues reserves the right to verify financial information with SERASA.
Do financial awards have to be repaid?
No. Financial assistance is provided as grants that do not have to be repaid.
If parents are divorced, separated or never married, who must submit financial information?
It is the responsibility of parents to pay for the educational expenses of their children to the extent they are able. In assessing need, Avenues will take into account the assets and obligations of both parents and will not be bound by separation or divorce agreements or by the assertion that one parent is unwilling to pay. Therefore, both parents must submit the required disclosures. It is the responsibility of the custodial parent to ask the noncustodial parent to complete and submit all forms. Both parents must also submit tax returns.
If a student enrolled without financial assistance, may the family request financial assistance the following year?
A family may submit the required forms to request financial assistance during the next year’s application cycle. However, barring an unforeseen financial crisis, a student who has been enrolled less than two years will not be eligible for financial assistance.
