Student Life

In the Early Learning Center, student life is rooted in curiosity, creativity, and community. Students share their learning through gallery walks, participate in school-wide celebrations, and begin developing confidence in expressing their ideas and experiences.

These early moments help students build a strong sense of belonging and joy in learning together.

As students grow, opportunities expand. Lower Division students participate in faculty-led affinity spaces that deepen community and belonging, as well as cultural clubs such as Mandarin club where students explore calligraphy, traditional dance, and language through creative experiences.

School-wide events—including Lunar New Year, Carnaval, and World’s Fair—bring students together to celebrate cultures from around the world.

Students can also explore interests through afterschool extended learning opportunities and seasonal programs like Summer@Avenues, building friendships and discovering new passions beyond the classroom.

In middle grades, students begin to take greater ownership of their interests. They participate in a wide range of clubs, athletics teams, performances, and student initiatives while developing the confidence to collaborate, compete, and contribute to the community.

These experiences encourage students to explore widely while beginning to shape their own leadership voice.

In the upper grades, students lead.

They launch organizations, lead clubs, organize events, mentor younger students, and help shape the culture of the school. Through athletics, performances, publications, service initiatives, and leadership roles, students develop the confidence and perspective needed to make a meaningful impact beyond Avenues.
