Style guide and uniform
Our Style Guide reinforces a sense of belonging by making our students easily recognizable to one another and other members of our community. It provides us with a sense of identity with enough flexibility for individuals to personalize their choice of clothing. What the Style Guide is intended to accomplish are the following:
- Define an Avenues identity.
- Avoid advertising differences in economic circumstances.
The Avenues uniform is optional. Avenues-logo items can be purchased at Cotton House or the official Avenues Store (shipped from the US).
Technology
Avenues recognizes the power of technology to enhance the learning experience for our students. The technology team aims to work in partnership with our parent, student and faculty community to ensure the success of the technology program.
Students from Small World, nursery and pre-K have shared iPad kits available in the classrooms. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade receive an iPad. Also, each 5th grade classroom is also equipped with a MacBook cart to help students transition from Primary to Secondary. Students from 6th through 12th grade receive a MacBook Air, iPad and Apple Pencil.
New students starting in 6th through 12th grade will receive their devices during New Student Orientation. Please note that parents or guardians with students in these grades will need to digitally sign a lease agreement.
Transportation
School bus services are provided by Bus Children to all students, transforming their commute into an opportunity to socialize with peers and become more independent. Bus Children has been working with Avenues São Paulo since our campus opened in 2018 and is a valued partner in reducing traffic during arrival and dismissal and promoting more sustainability within our community.
Registration and payment for bus services are managed directly through our partner Bus Children. Families who wish to hire private transportation services may speak directly to Bus Children at bus-sp@avenues.org.

Nutrition
Avenues is happy to partner with Sodexo to offer a balanced diet for our students and employees on campus. Our lunch menu, which is updated weekly on this page, offers fresh salad and fruit, as well as two options of animal protein, vegan options and a special version for restrictive diets to gluten and lactose. Students also enjoy morning and afternoon snacks with different fruits, carbohydrates and proteins.
- Small World–Kindergarten: lunch is brought to the classroom in thermo-cookers.
- 1st–12th grade: students have lunch in Food every day
- Food allergies: students who inform food allergies to our health office will be served the gluten-free and dairy-free options.
- Vegan diets: students who inform vegetarian or vegan preferences to our health office will be served the vegan option.
We are a Green Kitchen school!
All vendors go through a rigorous selection process, and production is daily, using fresh ingredients and natural seasonings. Food samples are collected throughout the whole process for hygiene and quality control. In January 2023, our certification was renewed with the highest score among all certified schools!

Communications
At Avenues, it is our goal to keep our families as well informed as possible while being mindful of the email-saturated culture in which we live. These are Avenues official communication channels and platforms:
- Email: All families are automatically subscribed to receive cyclical communications including weekly bulletins, monthly messages from the head of school, and more.
- Avenues OPEN: Here you will be able to access important information regarding the school, update your contact information and manage your communications preferences.
- WhatsApp: Avenues uses WhatsApp to send read-only reminders to families, who can opt out if they wish to do so. Make sure to include a valid cellphone number to your Family Profile on Avenues OPEN to receive our messages.
Electives and Enrichment Courses
Secondary Division students have the exciting opportunity of exploring their personal interests during regular school hours.
Students joining grades 6-8 take part in Enrichment Courses designed to complement the student experience.
Students joining grades 9-12 enroll in Enrichment Courses and in a wide variety of Elective Courses, from data science to philosophy, business strategy, music theory and more.
Click below to review and indicate your preferences for Semester 2. We recommend students and parents take a moment to discuss the options as a family before submitting the form(s).
Extended Learning
Sign up for the 2023-24 programs
Many of the world’s greatest scientists, artists, athletes, and mathematicians got their start early, following their curiosity and passion beyond the formal school day.
Inspired by the lives of these changemakers, we have curated a selection of after-school learning experiences for our students. The range of classes engages students to explore their curiosity, excel in their passions, and just plain have fun.
Our classes are offered Monday through Friday. These classes provide an additional snack and supervision until 5:00 pm, in case your family requires it. To learn more about our programs and fees, please visit our webpage below. Registration for the next school year will open in early August.
School break program
You can still sign up your child entering nursery through 5th grade for our school break program that will happen in January: the NatureTech Camp! This camp is also offered to non-Avenues students—you are welcome to invite your child's friends to join.
