Join us! Explorers Nature Camp in January

Research shows that consistent exposure to English during school breaks helps children maintain and strengthen their language skills, boosting fluency, confidence, and long-term learning. We are offering an exciting break programs for children ages 3–11, open to both Avenues and non-Avenues students. Spaces are limited.

Our campus is growing!

Avenues São Paulo is expanding with the addition of the neighboring property, creating more than 6,500 m² of new outdoor learning space designed to offer hands-on, authentic learning experiences deeply connected to nature. Construction will begin next semester, and we look forward to sharing each step of this journey as our campus continues to grow with purpose.

New Spaces for Small World, Nursery and Pre-K!

Avenues São Paulo is transforming the entire first floor—home to our Small World, nursery, and pre-K classrooms—to create more open, inviting, and developmentally aligned learning spaces for young children. Carefully designed in collaboration with our academic and operations teams, the renovation will be fully completed and ready to welcome students on the first day of school in January 2026, introducing environments that inspire curiosity, wellbeing, and the joy of early learning.

Choose your electives and enrichments: Grades 6–12

One of the distinctive features at Avenues is the opportunity for students to delve into their interests and explore new ones through our Elective (grades 9-12) and Enrichment courses (grades 6–12).

Electives are an integral part of the core academic experience, allowing students to explore areas of interest in greater depth. Enrichments allow students to choose up to two courses, one that meets on Mondays and Thursdays, and another on Tuesdays and Fridays. These are fun, interest-based, 50-minute-long classes that take place during the school day.

Athletics (Grades 6–12)

At Avenues, students can participate in athletic activities, have fun, experience the benefits of being physically active and enjoy being on a team or in a program.

Our Athletic program offers basketball, cheerleading, futsal, soccer and volleyball in the Junior Varsity category (students who are 14 years old and younger) and Varsity category (students who are 15 years old and older).

Care Program

The Care program is Avenues São Paulo’s Social Scholarship Program, created to ensure inclusion and equity for students from low-income backgrounds. In addition to substantial financial aid, the program provides support with uniforms, transportation, extracurricular activities, trips, and the college application process.

Grounded in the values of welcome, safety and respect, Care promotes access, diversity and active participation in the school community. Through individualized support, the program accompanies each student throughout their academic and personal journey, strengthening their wellbeing and sense of belonging.

Communications

At Avenues, it is our goal to keep our families as well-informed as possible while being mindful of the email-saturated culture in which we live. These are Avenues official communication channels and platforms:

Email: All families are automatically subscribed to receive cyclical communications, including weekly bulletins, monthly messages from the head of school, and more.
Avenues OPEN: Here, you will be able to access important information regarding the school, update your contact information and manage your communications preferences. New families will get access to OPEN in late December.

Many great scientists, artists, and athletes discovered their passions early in life. Inspired by their journeys, we created the Explorers program—an after-school experience designed to spark curiosity, build skills, and bring joy to students of all ages.

New courses have already been added to the catalog, and you can explore our updated offerings here to learn more about our programs and fees.

Health

At Avenues São Paulo, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our students are among our top priorities.

The Health Office is dedicated to supporting student health throughout the school year. Located on the ground floor near the reception, it is staffed by licensed nursing professionals and an administrative assistant who helps with triage and communication. The space includes two treatment rooms and a welcoming area.

We invite all families to read the Health Office Guide, which outlines our procedures for care, medication administration, and instructions for completing the required digital health form on OPEN, our parent portal, before the start of school. Please note that parents will gain access to OPEN in mid-December.

Holiday Programs

Explorers Nature Camp
A beloved tradition at Avenues São Paulo, our holiday Explorers Nature Camp invites younger learners in the Primary Division to connect with the natural world through play, discovery, and hands-on environmental learning. Rooted in outdoor exploration, this camp is a joyful and enriching way for children to spend their school break.

Camp Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Week 1: January 12 - 16, 2026
Week 2: January 19 - 23, 2026

Holiday Explorers Nature Camp

Nutrition

We are a Green Kitchen school!
All vendors go through a rigorous selection process, and production is daily, using fresh ingredients and natural seasonings. Food samples are collected throughout the whole process for hygiene and quality control.

Avenues is happy to partner with Sodexo to offer a balanced diet for our students and employees on campus. Important: Remember to inform our health office of any food allergies or restrictions so your child can receive an adapted menu.

Snacks: Students enjoy morning and afternoon snacks that include fruits, carbohydrates and proteins.
Lunch: We offer six options of salad with homemade dressing and seeds, soup, three options of rice, pasta with two options of sauce, three options of animal protein and a vegan option.
Dessert: Fruits, yogurt, honey and oat are served every day. Sweet desserts are offered only twice a month to avoid the sugar rush caused by excess sugar and expand the students' dietary repertoire.

Chill/Chill Express
Secondary Division students also have access to Chill, a dedicated space where they can buy healthy snacks and relax with their peers during downtime. To streamline the experience, students may purchase tickets at selling totems located near Connect and on the Secondary Division floors. Families who wish to allow their children to make purchases at Chill can create a Nutrebem account, generate a student code and add credits. Students may also use credit or debit cards; however, payments via cell phone are not accepted.

Style Guide and Uniform

Our Style Guide reinforces a sense of belonging by making our students easily recognizable to one another and other members of our community. It provides us with a sense of identity with enough flexibility for individuals to personalize their choice of clothing. What the Style Guide is intended to accomplish are the following:

Avoid advertising differences in economic circumstances.

While the style guide is mandatory, the Avenues uniform is optional. Avenues-logo items can be purchased at the Avenues São Paulo Online Store.

Avenues Style Guide

Technology

Avenues recognizes the power of technology to enhance the learning experience for our students. The technology team aims to work in partnership with our parent, student and faculty community to ensure the success of our program and the responsible use of technology.

Here is the summary of our device program:

Small World, nursery and pre-K: Students have shared iPad kits available in the classrooms.
Kindergarten through 5th Grade: Students receive an iPad.
3rd and 4th Grade: Each grade has access to a shared MacBook cart.
5th Grade: Students receive a MacBook Air to support their transition from Primary to Secondary.
6th through 12th Grade: Students receive a MacBook Air.

New students starting in 6th through 12th grade will receive their devices during New Student Orientation. Please note that parents or guardians with students in these grades will need to digitally sign a lease agreement.

Transportation

School bus services are provided by Bus Children to all students, transforming their commute into an opportunity to socialize with peers and become more independent. Bus Children has been working with Avenues São Paulo since our campus opened in 2018 and is a valued partner in reducing traffic during arrival and dismissal and promoting more sustainability within our community.

Registration and payment for bus services are managed directly through our partner Bus Children. Families who wish to hire private transportation services may speak directly to Bus Children at bus@avenues-sp.org.

Avenues World Elements (AWE) was developed to showcase the unique global perspective of Avenues and define the global intended curriculum for graduating students across the globe. AWE captures the essential and enduring outcomes for Avenues graduates.

Avenues Language Learning Intensive (ALLI)

ALLI is a semester-to-year-long program designed for students who meet all academic criteria for admission to Avenues but require minimal additional support in English reading, writing, and/or speaking in order to ensure classroom readiness in an English-language learning environment. Students in this program will continue their academic coursework at an age-appropriate level while deepening and furthering their abilities in English through an engaging, project-based curriculum that puts students at the center of their own learning and language acquisition.

Brazilian Program

At Avenues São Paulo, we take Brazilian educational standards as seriously as we do international ones. With an integrated curricular approach to instruction in Portuguese and English, our students attain a balanced mastery of both languages and reap the extensive cognitive benefits of bilingualism. All of the Brazilian national curricular components of Portuguese are included in our language curriculum at each grade level. We do not see English and Portuguese as belonging to separate silos but as two essential facets of an Avenues education.

Diversity, Equity Inclusion (DEI)

An integral part of the Avenues mission is to graduate students who are at ease beyond their borders. We often think of borders from a geographical lens. Still, they can be viewed by race, social-economic status, physical ability, language, etc. With the spirit of empathy and authentic listening, our students will develop the cultural competencies to connect across these borders, respect and celebrate differences.

Aligned with our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), we work to nurture a school culture where each person is trusted, valued and appreciated in our community for the diverse identities they represent. The DEI strategy is anchored by five key pillars: attract mission-aligned families, achieve operational excellence, develop an inclusive curriculum, develop our staff and use empowering language in our DEI conversations.

Community Engagement

We are committed to helping students get out of their bubbles, whether socio-economic, cultural, or linguistic. Not only because it’s the right thing to do but also because young people learn and grow in extraordinary ways when they do.

From Small World to 12th grade, our community engagement, social innovation and mastery programs emphasize experiential learning that allows students to forge personal connections to individuals, organizations and causes beyond the campus walls.

A standout example is the ACE Fellowship—a dynamic initiative that brings social and environmental entrepreneurs into meaningful collaboration with our school community. Through workshops, joint projects, and hands-on initiatives, Fellows work alongside students and faculty to co-create learning experiences grounded in real-world challenges and solutions. This deepens students’ awareness of global issues and expands their sense of what it means to lead with purpose.

Through the ACE Fellowship and other long-term partnerships, we inspire students to commit to the common good and foster a desire to make a difference in the world. These immersive experiences are crucial in our effort to cultivate the next generation of courageous, compassionate and enterprising global citizens.

Dean of Student Life Program and College Counseling

At Avenues, we firmly believe that academic success is inseparable from emotional and social thriving. We see academic excellence and wellbeing as interconnected aspects of a truly enriching education that sets the stage for lifelong happiness and success.

Our concept of wellbeing transcends mental and physical health. It's about creating an environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to pursue their passions and dreams, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose that extends beyond the classroom and into the world. In our view, true wellbeing surpasses the absence of stress or conflict; it gives students the tools to manage challenges effectively and build resilience independently.

This is done with the support of our Deans Program, which guarantees each student has a dedicated mentor and advocate, providing holistic support from grades 6–12, including guidance through college counseling.
