College Counseling
Our students stand out. The world is noticing.
At Avenues, every student is supported as they discover their passion and pursue it—continuing on to well-chosen post-secondary paths. Our graduates are excelling at an impressive array of more than 200 colleges and universities worldwide.
Our approach to college counseling
Colleges look for more than strong academics—they want to see students who engage deeply with the subjects and issues that inspire them, and who show clear potential to thrive in the next chapter of their learning.
At Avenues, we design the college counseling process with that in mind. Our approach combines clarity and care, ensuring that what can often feel overwhelming becomes a journey that is both rewarding and growth-filled.
The process itself is an important rite of passage. Students learn to take initiative, advocate for themselves, and manage responsibilities with integrity and self-awareness. They develop essential skills—organization, research, and time management—that will serve them well beyond high school. For parents and guardians, this is a moment to provide steady encouragement as their child navigates the full spectrum of emotions—anticipation, uncertainty, resilience, joy—ultimately preparing them for independence and success in college and beyond.
Your network of deans and college counselors
Avenues deans are full-time advisors whose sole focus is the social-emotional wellbeing and academic success of their students. Students work with a full-time dean who specializes in their age group starting in grade 6—from supporting the transitions encountered in the middle grades to providing college counseling in the upper grades.
