From 1s through Grade 5, children at Avenues grow within a world-centered learning community—one that evolves with them, redefines rigor, and encourages curiosity, confidence, and care from the very beginning.

What You’ll Experience on a Spring Tour

On a Spring Tour, you’ll see how curiosity in the early years becomes focus, discipline, and academic depth in Lower Division.

You’ll spend time with Avenues school leaders and meet exceptional Upper Division students who began their journey in our Early Learning Center and Lower Division. They’ll share their experiences growing up at Avenues—how language immersion, inquiry-driven learning, and a deeply connected community shaped the way they think and learn today.

There will be time throughout to ask questions about curriculum, learning, community, and what the Avenues experience looks like over time.

What Shapes Learning at Avenues

World-Centered Learning

World-centered learning at Avenues helps children understand themselves, others, and the world as interconnected. Students encounter multiple perspectives early, learn to listen and question, and engage with ideas beyond their own experience—building awareness, empathy, and responsibility over time.

Language Immersion

Avenues is the nation’s premier language immersion school—and immersion is woven into daily learning, not treated as a separate subject. From Early Learning Center through Lower Division, students use their target language to think, collaborate, and express ideas across disciplines.

Rigor, Redefined

At Avenues, rigor is not about moving faster—it’s about thinking more deeply and across disciplines. Students are challenged to explain their thinking, revise their work, and engage with ideas that require focus and persistence. Reading, writing, and mathematics are used as tools for reasoning, discussion, and problem-solving.

Trailblazing Innovation

Innovation at Avenues is intentional, not performative. Teachers design learning experiences that reflect how knowledge is created in the real world—through inquiry, iteration, and interdisciplinary thinking.
