In Grades 6–12, an Avenues education equips students to thrive as world-wise leaders.

Through rigorous, personalized academics and opportunities ranging from High Intensity Practice (HIP) for executive functioning to the Avenues Institute for Advanced Mathematics, Global Journeys, robust athletics, and 80+ student-led clubs, students are empowered to pursue their passions, broaden their perspectives, and make a meaningful impact.

Signature Programs in Upper Division

J-Term

J-Term is an annual opportunity for students to develop the knowledge, skills and mindsets needed to become future world-wise leaders. Students can choose from a range of unique learning experiences, from partnering with local organizations to pursuing their own specialized studies in the arts, math or entrepreneurship.

Mastery Learning System

The Mastery Learning System is a selective course of study for students who have demonstrated the ability to work independently and who are driven to explore areas of interest in exceptional depth. Students with faculty advisement work collaboratively on complex, interdisciplinary projects and experiences.

Avenues Institute for Advanced Mathematics (AIAM)

AIAM offers a path of advanced study in mathematics for Upper Division students at Avenues. More than just an advanced math class, the Institute is an exceptionally selective program designed for students who feel driven to produce groundbreaking work in pure and applied mathematics.

Global Journeys

From grades 6–12, Avenues students have the opportunity to travel the world with Global Journeys, our signature study abroad programs combining experiential learning, cultural immersion and personal growth.
