Hosting TEDx

As a part of their Mastery project, three NY seniors held a TEDx event at our school about global innovation.

The Mastery program at Avenues gives students an opportunity to find and pursue a passion. Upper grades students in charge of their own learning in an area of their choosing, supported by a mentor (either a faculty member or an expert in the field), and culminates in a long-term project that undergoes multiple iterations.

For this project, the students handled the entire production of the event, from securing the speakers to building the set. Watch this video to see how it call came together and what they learned in the process.
