Do families need to speak Mandarin at home?
家里需要说中文吗？

No. Many of our families are new to Mandarin, while others are heritage speakers. Our program is designed to support both—building strong foundations for beginners and deepening fluency for children who already have exposure at home.

不需要。我们的家庭中既有完全没有中文基础的，也有具备语言背景的家庭。课程同时支持两类学生——帮助初学者建立基础，同时进一步提升已有中文环境孩子的语言能力。

What age does immersion begin?

As early as age 1 in our Small World program, when children are especially receptive to language through play, routine, and interaction.

Will my child fall behind in English?

No. Research shows that children learning in two languages develop strong skills in both. English literacy is intentionally supported alongside Mandarin, ensuring students grow as confident communicators across languages.

What if my child already speaks Mandarin?

Students with prior Mandarin experience are supported and challenged at their level. Teachers differentiate instruction to expand vocabulary, deepen literacy, and build confidence in more complex communication.

What if my child has no prior exposure?

That’s completely fine. Many children begin with no prior exposure. Through immersion, they naturally develop comprehension and confidence over time.
