Small World Program Overview

Avenues Small World program is for children who will be 2 by August 31 of their year of entry, with priority given to families with a child currently attending Avenues, as well as to Avenues employees.

To learn more about the Small World Program, please join us for one of our upcoming parent information events.

A.M. Program, 8:20—11:20 a.m.
P.M. Program, 11:50—2:50 p.m.
  • Two-Day: Tuesday and Thursday
  • Three-Day: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • Five-Day: Monday through Friday

Kindergarteners Learn about Central American Culture

This past spring, the kindergarten’s Owls and Toucans learned about their teachers' different cultures in the target language. We took time to talk about the mountainous terrain which yields various types of exotic fruit in Honduras and also touched on the volcanos surrounded by lakes in Nicaragua.

Dancing a Poem with the Avenues Dance Club

This year I had the opportunity to work with my 6th grade dance club to create a piece for the Avenues spring dance concert. We decided to use the Maya Angelou’s poem “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me at All” as a jumping-off point.
