The Opportunity


Avenues is seeking a People and Culture Coordinator to handle recruitment support, onboarding / offboarding process, and organize cultural building activities to join our People & Culture team  in Shenzhen.


You will join a talented group of professionals who support the organization in all People and Culture related areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for onboarding and off-boarding employees and expatriates as well as contributing in faculty hiring as our campus expands. 

The ideal candidate is a team player who is able to foster relationships by working collaboratively within the faculty and staff team, especially to support expatriates during the onboarding process. He/she should also be a quick learner to learn recruitment and support the hiring  in the busy season. He/she will get guidance and support from a talented team. 



Provide support to recruiting in hiring seasons (high demand from Aug. to Apr.)

  • Support recruiter to do sourcing in order to meet the high demand of hiring for school year 2021-2022, e.g.  Job Fair preparation, Proactive search in local and international channels, support internal referral program
  • Administrative support, e.g. managing postings on job local sites, interview scheduling
  • Screen CV and send WePow
  • Record hiring tracker and check the bottleneck of the process for each candidate and move them forward
  • Help organize hiring data for reviewing and planning. 
  • Organize and update the talent pool.
  • Improve the function of Greenhouse, such as make email templates more personalized.
  • If qualified & interested, could do some entry level position recruitment, but this is nice to have 

Ensuring Quality HR Services to Colleagues from onboarding to offboarding

  • Clearly organize and communicate onboarding plan & schedule for each arriving hire with calendar, checklist, communication 
  • Organize and have ready all materials needed for each new hire’s onboarding. 
  • Arriving/new staff have warm, caring, clearly organized orientation session(s) 
  • Ensure all office setup is ready to go (computer, accounts, etc) 
  • Quickly, proactively problem solve individual issues.
  • Organize and have ready all materials needed for each new hire’s onboarding. 
  • Provide related trainings to new colleagues in EMBARK
  • Manage the offboarding process for colleagues, ensure the process is clear and colleagues are clear about related actions 

Ensuring the relocation/immigraiton process is smooth for expatriates (from Dec. to Aug.)

  • Provide proactive and thorough communication to expatriate colleague about relocation timeline, vendor, processes and help to solve problems proactively
  • Coordinate the immigration vendor to support the visa / work permit process for expatriates
  • Make sure immigration process be compliant and easy to understand for expatriates
  • Point person to support arrivals in town. Plan and hold check ins, accompany on relocation/apartment/banking/other visits 
  • Support expatriate on housing searching, managing the agencies to communicate
  • Support expatriates on housing renewal process and proactively solve any problems in the process (high demand in summer 2020)
  • Support expatriates to be back to / enter China, by working with vendors or independently to find suitable flights, border policies of transfers, quarantine procedure etc. (high demand in summer 2020)

Initiate cultural building activities

  • Initiate activities for important days in the school year
  • Plan the annual cultural activities under reasonable cost
  • Coordinate and events with different teams involved


Job Requirements


  • 2-3 years of work experiences in HR services, supporting expatriate and hiring experiences will be a plus
  • Excellent communication both in Chinese and English
  • Service minded, collaborative in the team
  • Passion to learn and grow
  • Proactive, problem-solving stance: identifying a gap/need and taking steps to improve/solve it 
  • Be creative, passionate in culture building activities will be a plus
