Mei has more than 18 years of experience in global business development and thought leadership. In her current role, Mei is responsible for expanding the footprint of Avenues: The World School across China—a challenge she embraces with passion and commitment.
Most recently, she served as operating partner at CITIC Capital in China, where she was responsible for screening potential investees as well as nurturing existing clients in the education, technology and media sectors.
Prior to joining CITIC, Mei served as VP: Asia-Pacific for McGraw-Hill Education Services and played a key role in identifying and realizing innovative opportunities to satisfy the company’s rapid growth agenda. She spearheaded a joint venture between McGraw-Hill Education (USA) and New Oriental Education & Technology Group (NYSE: EDU) and initiated the development and implementation of strategic plans, creating new opportunities in the areas of product development, sales and marketing.
Mei was also executive director and founding CEO of Intuto China, an international e-learning company that was at the forefront of digital learning initiatives in China at the time. Prior to that, she was founding VP of South Ocean Education Group, one of the largest private educational and training companies in China, where she played a pivotal role in the establishment of ten K–12 schools and two vocational colleges with a combined enrollment of 23,000 students.
Mei earned an M.B.A. from Murdoch University (Perth, Australia), where she lived for several years.
