Lyle French is an internationally distinguished educator with more than 18 years of experience. Most recently, he served as the pedagogical director at São Paulo’s Escola Beit Yaacov, where he monitored student success and oversaw the curriculum and faculty professional development. Lyle will hold similar responsibilities in his position at Avenues São Paulo, where he will oversee curriculum, teaching and student achievement.
Prior to Escola Beit Yaacov, Lyle was the pedagogical director at Escola Cidade Jardim, where, among other notable achievements, he wrote and implemented a new integrated language curriculum. Lyle’s additional experiences in bilingual school settings include serving as pedagogical director at Stance Dual and implementing and maintaining effective immersion programs at two additional Brazilian immersion schools. An advocate of immersion, Lyle is highly regarded both in Brazil and abroad for the six international conferences he has organized on the topic of advancing and improving immersion/bilingual education.
Lyle is dedicated to fostering dynamic and collaborative teaching as a means of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of learning in children. A native of Canada and long-time resident of São Paulo, he is fluent in both English and Portuguese.
