In Hurricane-Battered Red Hook, Disaster is Breeding Resilience

November 10th, 2012 - On the sidewalk outside the Red Hook Houses in Brooklyn, a group of 9th grade students from Avenues: The World School, a well-appointed private high school in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, is being corralled into teams to deliver solar-powered lamps donated by the non-profit TED to light the hallways in the gloomy projects.
