Avenues’ Chelsea campus is in one of the most exciting, vibrant art communities in the world. Steps from Avenues’ front door are hundreds of art galleries, museums and artists’ studios, making the area a virtual wonderland of art. Proximity to the Chelsea Arts District provides an unprecedented opportunity to involve, educate and stimulate students in the visual arts through the Avenues-Chelsea Arts Initiative.

Avenues students will become engaged through ongoing tours of such facilities, all perfect venues for learning the art of observation and exploration. Many of Chelsea’s galleries will become adjunct classrooms with Chelsea’s artists as adjunct teachers, bringing art to life for students whether through painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, drawing, printmaking or digital art.

Students will collaborate with art professionals on in-house art exhibits and artists-in-residence programs. And the serious Avenues art student who desires to pursue a career in the field of art will be nurtured and prepared through enhanced exposure, including working internships with Chelsea artists and galleries.
